The CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media enables individuals to use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self and/or team in the television, radio, film and digital media industries.
In order to gain entry into this course, the potential student must:
● Be 18 years of age or over
● Have satisfactorily completed Year 12 in the Australian High School (or equivalent), and
● Have an IELTS band score of minimum 5.5 or TOEFL 500 (or equivalent)
The course is delivered over 52 weeks. It includes 40 weeks of tuition and 12 weeks of term breaks.
Delivery of this qualification combines trainer led theory classes, practical sessions involving small groups, individual and team activities, practical demonstrations and role plays. Computer based activities and projects will be undertaken using computer lab hardware and software
Each unit of competency involves assessment tasks conducted in a range of contexts. Such assessment tasks may include case studies, practical demonstrations, individual projects, report writing, portfolios of evidence, closed book examinations, role plays and oral presentations.
This qualification aims to provide the skills and knowledge for an individual to work as an animation designer, artistic director, assistant producer, director, director of photography, editor (film and television), production manager (film and television) or a special effects designer.
Successful graduates of CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media may undertake or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications or gain entry into the second year of WIN’s Bachelor of Interactive Media.
