Green Screen room

Green screens are used in digital film making for special effects. The process  isolates a single color, such as green, in an electronic image and using software to make that value transparent, allowing another image to show through the affected areas.

A complete green room such as WIN’s  rather than just a green screen, means film makers are not limited to close-up shots for their special effects but can shoot full body wide-shots and superimpose your subjects onto virtual backgrounds, place them over animated digital backdrops or transport them to a another planet.

WIN students utilise the Green Room during their Bachelor of Interactive Media studies to develop relevant industry skills and experience.

Organic Motion

WIN’s motion capture facility is one of only a handful in Australia and the southern hemisphere. This facility significantly enhances the learning opportunities available to WIN students.

Markerless motion capture made by Organic motion (www.//organicmotion.com) was developed to be the easiest-to-use, most cost-effective professional motion capture system available. Complicated calibrations and time-consuming setups associated with traditional marker based motion capture systems are now a thing of the past. With our markerless motion capture system, 14 infra red cameras record an actors movements and apply them to a 3D animated character.

WIN’s motion capture facility allows students to create realistic and otherwise time consuming character performances for games and animations. This enables WIN students to acquire and develop creative and industry relevant work skills as they proceed towards achieving a Bachelor of Interactive Media or through elective subjects taken within a Bachelor of Business.
